Women Grow Uganda (WGU) formerly know as Rural Mothers at Risk-Africa is an indeginous NGO based is Uganda, registered under NGO bureau with registration no.6564/INDR160465251NB

The organization was established in 2017 to empower the rural women and youth including all other vulnerable people in Isolated communities of Uganda with focus on underlying causes of poverty which makes them vulnerable in their own communities and prevents them from socioeconomic growth and development. Our programmes are geared towards human rights for confidence building and social networks for sustainable Livelihoods and economic empowerment.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build capacities of the unprivillaged Rural women, youth & other groups of vulunarlbe people, for social and economic empowerment.

  • To empower unprivilaged Rural women & youth to respond to challenges within their communities
  • To mobilize relief items for vulunarlbe people & resources for capacity building and administration.
  • Research, document good practices, advocate and lobby for community support to women and youth.
  • Promote savings, micro-credit schemes for small; business & establishment of agrobusiness networks for sustainable development..
  • Promote religious morals, good health, hygine, environmental protection and education.

Our Programs

We connect and unite women in agriculture through organized farmer trainings, information sharing & network for markets.

Contract Farming

Contract farming involves production by farmers under agreement with buyers for their outputs. This arrangement can help integrate small-scale farmers into modern agricultural value chains, providing them with inputs, technical assistance, and assured markets.

Arabica Coffee Processing

Processing Arabica coffee into Elgon aroma products involves several key steps to bring out the unique Elgon aroma, resulting in high-quality coffee products with the distinctive Elgon fragrance.

Apiculture & Honey Processing

We produce organic honey, beeswax, royal jelly, and other bee products.

Shea Processing

We procecess Shea into butter that is often used in cosmetics, soaps, and food products due to its moisturizing and healing properties.
